ASK WHY? Stretch like a Football Player

BARTENDAZ SAYS, STRETCH LIKE KNOWSHON MORENO
Running back Knowshon Moreno's 18 carry, 168-yard, stunning effort for Georgia in Saturday's 56-17 win over Central Michigan wowed the watching crowds at Sanford Stadium. The way he outwitted Vince Agnew during his 29-yard run is easily the stuff legends are made of. Strangely, Georgia fans watching ESPN were not able to see the episode. The most that they got to see was a fleeting shot during a quick preview of the Bulldogs highlights. What was worse, ESPN did not include Moreno in its TOP 10 plays. Georgia coach Richt was categorical that Moreno’s play was good enough and that somebody at the network “must have missed the boat”.

Take a look at Moreno’s play. If you think that he could do that without stretching you must be crazy. Here are some great techniques for stretching your legs and hamstrings before sports. Stretching before a game helps players obtain high performance levels by preparing themselves for physical exercise. The Hamstring Stretch helps your lower body to become more flexible and also stretches the muscles of your lower back. Raise one leg and place the foot on a waist high bench. Straighten the leg you are standing on, and bend your body forward in order to grab hold of the leg on the bench holding it low. Hold this position for about 10-15 seconds, and release slowly. Repeat the exercise about 10 times with each leg. Here is how you can stretch your legs. Lay down flat on the floor next to a wall at a distance of about a foot or so away. Then bring your legs back and put them on the wall. Keep your legs straight. Hold that stretch for 5-10 seconds and then release it. You can repeat the first two steps and slowly try to move your legs closer to your face until your face is touching your knees.
